Lolly Elliottt, Operations manager at Beaverton Lodge, reminds folks that there are many things to consider when contemplating retirement living. Things like, is the facility owned by a large corporation? Does it have a family feel or is it cold and commercial? Is the facility centrally located and near to shopping, dining and other businesses? Most importantly, are the residents friendly and happy?
Fortunately, Alex and Lori Paul, who live locally, opened Beaverton Lodge in 1988 and continue to own it now. You won’t find a corporate culture here.
Alex Paul had experience with engineering a local independent retirement community, so when his mother and his wife’s aunt were looking for retirement living, Paul bought property in central Beaverton and built the Beaverton Lodge Retirement Residence. Paul was able to add features that his mom and aunt wanted. Elliott is the manager and spoke about living at the Lodge. Alex and Lori are very much ‘hands on’ and really care about the residents and their well-being. Their son Louie Paul is learning the business to take over when the Paul’s retire and move into the Lodge. It is clear that Beaverton Lodge will always be family owned. The Beaverton lodge has a family feel because it is family owned and operated. Nothing cold and commercial here.

The location is excellent – close to town, but set back in a beautiful, wooded area along Beaverton Creek. It’s easy to visit the library, The Elsie Stuhr Senior center is within walking distance and the Lodge has vehicles to take residents further afield. Beaverton Lodge is close to everywhere you want to go.
“We were chosen Best Retirement because we are friendly, people say it feels homey and our residents are happy.” Elliott adds, “Our staff is wonderful, and many have worked for the Lodge for long periods of time. Another plus, we have onsite managers 24/7 to help if needed. “
If you are interested in retirement living, consider all the benefits of life at Beaverton Lodge. But plan ahead. ”We are at full occupancy right now, but we love to do tours, and take deposits for those who want to come live with us,” Elliott says. “If you would like to live at Beaverton Lodge, we only require a $150 refundable deposit to get on our wait list.”
