Chamber’s Glow Ball tourney set for Desert Peaks

Ever wanted to play golf in the night? Now’s your chance.

The Madras-Jefferson County Chamber of Commerce and Desert Peaks Golf Club are partnering in a Chamber fundraiser Glow Ball Golf event set for Friday, Oct. 4.

The field will include teams of four golfers each. Registration/arrival time is 5 p.m. with golf starting at 5:30 with nine holes of play. Darkness will be falling midway through that first nine. A dinner break following the first nine holes is scheduled for 7:30 p.m., and dinner will feature a catered affair from Champions Trokita. Golfing will resume at 9 p.m.

The night play will feature glowing golf balls, golf carts and glowing clothing. “Think neon,” said Chamber Director Debbie Taylor.

Awards will include best dressed team, top-notch golf cart decorations, to closest-to-the-pin and longest drive, and even a GOAT (Greatest of All Time) award.

The participation/sponsorship levels are $750 for a team of four and two hole sponsorship signs; $600 for a team of four and one hole sponsorship sign; $400 for a team of four; $200 for a hole sponsorship sign. All $400 and above levels include dinner and one drink ticket per player.

The Chamber is also seeking swag bag donations that will be given to event participants. Businesses that would like to contribute to the swag bags can contact the Chamber and are asked to have the items turned into the Chamber by Monday, Sept. 30.
