Japanese barbecue coming to Wilsonville

Gyu-Kaku, a Japanese barbecue chain, is coming to Wilsonville.

According to the company’s website, its name means “Horn of the Bull” in Japanese. The restaurant first opened in Los Angeles in 2001 and now has 800 locations worldwide.

The new location will be at 30200 SW Boones Ferry Road, Suites 68 and 72, according to a city building permit. Mediterranean restaurant Mr. Gyros, previously called Gyro House, formerly resided in suite 68 before moving to 30100 Southwest Boones Ferry Road, Suite 50.

A list of locations on the Gyu-Kaku website shows that the chain does not currently have any restaurants in Oregon.

The restaurant offers a range of meats and a grill is installed at every table.
