Mann’s on the Lake, which has been readying to place Stickmen Brewing Company at 40 N Street, started welcoming customers Tuesday, Oct. 29. The restaurant will offer new-American cuisine like steak and seafood and is owned by Eric Mann, who grew up in Lake Oswego and also runs Duke’s Public House and Aji Tram.
In terms of changes compared to Stickmen, which closed in 2023, Mann moved the front door to State Street, raised the ceilings and added more indoor seating. The location is the only restaurant along Oswego Lake in town — which naturally attracts summer customers — but Mann said some of the changes are aimed at making it an attractive spot during the winter. He wants the restaurant to be accessible for casual and formal diners, as well as families and people on dates. Along with the outdoor seating, there is a cocktail lounge and regular seating.
The remodel was more challenging than Mann anticipated due to the age of the building, which delayed the opening of the restaurant.

“It is a blessing in disguise not to open during the summer,” Mann said. “The problem with past restaurants here is they can’t support the amount of people who come. We are trying to change that.”
Mann’s on the Lake will be open for lunch and dinner, as well as brunch on the weekends. Mann hopes to have live music in the summer, host events like weddings and introduce a takeout program for folks boating to the restaurant. He added that the head chef held that same position at the former Bluehour Mediterranean restaurant in Portland and that Mann’s on the Lake will use high-quality ingredients.
A website went live Monday and reservations are encouraged, but there is also walk-in seating.
“I think it’s going to be busy for a couple of months because it’s new,” Mann said. “The whole purpose of doing the inside is it wasn’t conducive to winter dining. The outdoor area sells itself with the view. We upgraded the furniture to make it inviting (inside).”
