The new all-wooden ceiling at Portland International Airport. Royal Dutch Airlines, also known as KLM, has begun nonstop flights from Portland to Amsterdam.

If you ever wanted to fly direct to an iconic European destination straight from PDX, now is your chance.

Sunday, Oct. 27, marked the very first arrival of KLM Royal Dutch Airlines’ nonstop flight from Amsterdam. With this landing, Portland is now officially the airline’s 21st North American direct destination.

“Not only is it a nonstop — which is super important — but it really provides one stop and connectivity to the rest of Europe, the Middle East, India and Africa,” said Dan Pippenger, Port of Portland chief aviation officer.
