Backwoods Brewing will open a new satellite pub in Hillsboro’s new Main Street Commons development in mid-September or early October.

If all goes as planned, Backwoods Brewing will open a new satellite pub in Hillsboro’s new Main Street Commons development in mid-September or early October.

“We couldn’t be more excited about the space,” CEO and owner Steve Waters said in a statement Wednesday, June 28. “At 7,800 square feet we’ll have plenty of room to make our neighbors in Hillsboro comfortable in our new pub.”

Backwoods has locations in both Portland’s Pearl District and Carson, Washington. The Hillsboro location will boast a 3,000-square-foot rooftop bar that will include wood-paneled walls.

“With elevator access and taps in the rooftop area, it will definitely be the popular spot to have a beer and people watch from up above,” Jason Ogden, regional general manager of Backwoods’ Portland and Hillsboro satellite locations, said in a news release.

Backwoods reps said they also are planning to open new cabins as part of expansion of its Carson, Washington, headquarters and on July 29, will announce a beer festival sponsored by both Backwoods and another brewery.

Also planning to open in Hillsboro’s Main Street Commons is Grand Central Bakery and Sizzle Pie, which will offer East Coast-style pizza. Grand Central Bakery will open Monday, July 3, with Sizzle Pie having set a July 15 opening.

Coming too to Main Street Commons, at 210 E. Main St., will The Sudra, a popular Portland-area, plant-based restaurant featuring Indian cuisine and cocktails.

Main Street Commons is located at 210 E. Main St. in the former U.S. Bank Building.
