On Tuesday, Portland-based Bushwacker filed an intention to cease operations at its North Catlin Avenue location, effective May 27.
With the plant closure comes 156 layoffs, which is everyone, according to representatives of the Oregon office of Community Colleges and Workforce Development, where Lund International — Bushwacker’s parent company — filed its notification of the facility’s closure.
The state department tried to reach out to Bushwacker and Georgia-based Lund in an attempt to pinpoint which job titles are up for review and the number of workers currently holding those positions, but hasn’t been able to make contact so far. Lund did not immediately respond to the Business Tribune for comment, either.

“It helps to know who we’re talking to and what they did before, in case we have other companies looking for workers in the area who have similar job skills so we can start funneling people there,” said John Asher, the rapid response coordinator with Community Colleges and Workforce Development.
Lund acquired Bushwacker, which manufactures fender, trailer and bumper protection, in January 2015. Lund designs, manufactures and markets aftermarket accessories for light or heavy trucks and cars.
