Customers wait in line at Bob's Red Mill, shortly after it was announced that the store and cafe would close.

Bob’s Red Mill, the Milwaukie company founded on love of healthy foods and milling whole grains, is closing its iconic retail store and cafe. Wholesale sales will continue.

The Whole Grain Store currently sells over 200 Bob’s Red Mill products as well as baking tools and supplies, souvenirs, plus items from local vendors. The cafe was open seven days a week for breakfast and lunch, which featured omelets, pancakes and more, made from Bob’s Red Mill products as well ingredients from more than 20 local suppliers.

Bob’s Red Mill released a statement on Feb. 8 about the upcoming closures below:

Despite everyone’s hard work and best efforts, the Whole Grain Store has been operating at a loss for many years, and for that reason we’ve recently made the call for us to close it to focus on doing what we do best: making wholesome and high-quality products for sale at our retail partners. We sincerely thank the team members at the Whole Grain Store and Café who have been exceptional ambassadors for Bob’s Red Mill.
