Oregon Community Foundation doles out awards to nonprofits

The Oregon Community Foundation has announced grants to nonprofits around the state, totaling 248 grants and approaching nearly $5.8 million in awards.

Among those recipients are:
- Homeless Solutions Coalition of Clackamas County, based in Estacada, to expand its homeless services network — $35,000. HSCCC brings people together to tackle issues that have a major impact on community, emphasizing prevention of homelessness.
- AntFarm Inc. of Sandy and Estacada to expand services in food gardens, nutrition and healthy living for Spanish-speaking communities in Clackamas County — $40,000. AntFarm works to build healthy communities, support young people and their families, and teach sustainability through education and practice.
- Greater New Hope Charities of Fairview to hire a part-time physician assistant — $11,857. GNHC works with BIPOC community members through a community health lens to improve health equity and economic stability in East Multnomah County.
The philanthropic Oregon Community Foundation has been around since 1973, focusing on grantmaking, scholarships and research.
“Collectively, these projects support community resources that help to build a sense of belonging in the communities we serve,” said Karis Stoudamire-Phillips, a member of the foundation’s board and vice president of diversity, equity and inclusion. “From job training to mental health support to services to people experiencing homelessness, Oregon Community Foundation is extremely proud to support our nonprofit partners making a difference in the metro region and all across our state.”
