Benny's Donuts is set to open in Wilsonville in early 2023.

Benny’s Donuts and Mr. Maple Donuts are both set to open locations in Wilsonville early next year, ending the relative donut drought in town.

The new Benny’s Donuts location will be located in the Town Center commercial district at 8261 SW Wilsonville Road, next door to Peachy Berry. Owner Don Decarlo said they’re planning to open Jan. 7. Customers can stop by on opening day for a free donut.

Originally from Corvallis, where the business mainly catered to college students, Benny’s Donuts has four locations including the new one in Wilsonville. Customers will be able to mix and match donut flavors, fillings and glazes.

“It’s kind of like Chipotle, but for donuts,” Decarlo said of his made-to-order donut business.

Mr. Maple Donuts, a sister company to Sesame Donuts, doesn’t have a set opening date just yet, but owner Mike Aljamal said he’s hoping to begin welcoming customers in late January or February.

The donut shop will be located at 29890 SW Town Center Loop.

Aljamal said he chose Wilsonville because of its growth and location near Salem and Woodburn, where he hopes to expand the business next. The new location will be the fifth Mr. Maple Donuts store.

The donuts are made fresh daily, Aljamal said, and options range from classics to specialty donuts such as the cheesecake donut, which is Aljamal’s personal favorite. Mr. Maple Donuts will also, of course, feature plenty of maple-flavored donuts.

“We’d love to give back to the community as well,” Aljamal said, adding that they could do so by donating donuts to local school and church events.
